For 2020, Kia has launched the third generation of their iconic subcompact SUV. The all-new Kia Soul comes fresh off the assembly line with an expanded list of features, a hearty powertrain, and stunning good looks from the exterior to the cabin. An updated engine offers ample power for any situation while maintaining refreshingly responsible gas mileage, and a diverse trim range promises boundless customization. The instantly recognizable frame still comes with the open interior that the Soul is known for, and new infotainment features and driver assistance options will make each trip enjoyable and safe.

The 2020 Soul is available in eight trim levels:

The base LX starts the lineup with cloth upholstery, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity, and an infotainment touchscreen. The standard powertrain is a 147-horsepower 4-cylinder with a manual transmission. In the S trim, the manual transmission is substituted with a continuously variable automatic transmission. The S also comes with unique cloth upholstery and safety features like lane change assist, driver drowsiness monitoring, lane change assist, and automatic emergency braking. The X-Line sports special design accents, and the EX builds on the features list with navigation, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and other amenities.

The GT-Line sports unique exterior touches and rides on sport-tuned suspension. The GT-Line Turbo is powered by a 201-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. the Turbo also comes with leatherette and cloth in the cabin, plus a sunroof. The EV trim runs on a 201-horsepower electric motor and also features lane departure warning and blind spot monitoring. The EV Designer Collection adds to the EV’s features with a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, wireless device charging, heated front and seats.

The Soul can carry up to five passengers in its spacious cabin, with generous headspace and legroom on both rows. The SUV’s abundant interior space continues to the storage area, where you’ll find 24.2 cubic feet open for cargo. If you fold the rear seats down, the Soul has a maximum cargo capacity of 62 cubic feet. The seats promise plenty of comfort and support for adult passengers, and young children may be safely secured through the Soul’s two full LATCH car seat connection sets. If you want to customize your interior, you can opt for a variety of available accents like a heated steering wheel, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a sunroof, leatherette, and real leather upholstery.

You have several different powertrain options for the Soul, and each one promises sufficient energy for the daily drive. The base powertrain is a 147-horsepower 4-cylinder paired with a six-speed manual transmission, while you may also consider a continuously variable automatic. The Soul could also be equipped with a 201-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. If you choose the EV or EV Designer Collection trims, you’ll receive a 201-horsepower electric motor.
