The 2017 Kia Soul is offered in three separate trim levels: Base, Plus, and Exclaim. When it comes to engine options, the 2017 Soul gives you several options to consider. First of all, the base trim gets you a 1.6-liter four-cylinder that generates 130 hp and 118 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. However, a six-speed automatic transmission is optional. No matter which you choose, the base comes with front-wheel drive only. With the Plus trim, you gain a 2.0-liter engine that puts out 161 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque. This engine is only offered with the automatic transmission. Finally, the top trim, the Exclaim, gets you a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, you gain a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The base trim level comes with 17-inch wheels, 60/40-split folding rear seats, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a six-speaker audio system cloth upholstery, a USB input, satellite radio, Bluetooth®*, and more.
With the Plus trim, you gain selectable drive modes, heated mirrors, automatic headlights, automatic climate control, center armrests, a 5-inch touchscreen, a rearview camera, cruise control, remote keyless entry, fog lights, and more. For the Plus trim, you can select the Audio package which adds an 8-inch display, keyless entry and ignition, speaker lights that change with the music, a navigation system, a Harmon Kardon audio system, and two USB ports. There’s also the Primo package which gets you a 10-way power driver seat, heated outboard seats, blind-spot monitoring, leather upholstery, an 8-way power front passenger seat, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and power-folding mirrors.
The top trim level, the Exclaim, gives you a leather-wrapped steering wheel, keyless entry and ignition, 18-inch wheels, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smartphone integration, leather upholstery, and many others. For those of you who select the Exclaim trim level, you can add the Technology package which gets you many of the features of the Primo package as well as xenon headlights.
