History Of The Hooks
The Hooks’ history dates back to 1968 when they first got started in the Texas League as the Memphis Blues. In the years following, the club would change homes and names several times before moving from Round Rock to Corpus Christi following the 2004 season. The move from Round Rock introduced a new name change, this time from the Express to the Hooks.
The Hooks currently have won one league and division title (2006) and several first-half titles (2006, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018). Notable Hooks who have played in the MLB include Alex Bregman, J. D. Martinez, Dallas Keuchel, Hunter Pence, Carlos Correa, George Springer, and Yordan Alvarez, among others.
Currently, the Hooks play a 138-game season against other Double-A Minor League Baseball Teams. They will play half of their games at Whataburger Field and half on the road. The Double-A Central is a 10-team league where in which teams frequently play each other.
