The Corpus Christi Hooks are a Minor League Baseball team. The Hooks are the Double-A affiliate team of the Houston Astros and play in the Texas League. The Hooks have called Whataburger Field home since 2005. The ballpark sits on what once was cotton warehouses. Whataburger Field pays homage to its location’s history by implementing corrugated siding, mammoth wood beams, and even antique cotton presses from the 1920s to frame the left-center field videoboard.

As you watch the game at Whataburger Field, you can also see the stunning Harbor Bridge in the background behind center field. You may even be able to spot ships and other vessels cruise under the bridge from the Corpus Christ Bay into the Gulf of Mexico.

Hooks’ Mascots

While you come for the game, your kids probably come to see the baseball team mascot. The Corpus Christi Hooks’ fans can be doubly entertained with the Hooks’ two mascots. The two mascots for the Hooks baseball team are named Rusty Hook and Sammy the Seagull. Both mascots are a tribute to Corpus Christi’s coastal location.
